I've found the Microsoft WinXP Media Center Remote Control (OEM) at Newegg, which is model # A90-00007 .
This appears to include the USB receiver and everything.
As seano asked, is this the recommended one, and would it work with the mceusb setting in the lirc config setup?
Thanks!

I'll second the Home Theater Masters. I have an mx-700 and love it. It is a learning remote with a PC based setup. I also set up a harmony 520 for my folks but I personally prefer the Home Theater Masters.

All Harmoy Remotes can tal directly to the PVR 350. Infact, Logitech has a preprogrammed downoad for the PVR350. Pretty sweet.

Hey strick1226 (or anyone...),
Did you get that A90-00007 Microsoft Media Center Edition remote from NewEgg yet?
Did it work?
I need an IR remote *receiver* so I can get a universal to control all of my stuff...
This remote would do the trick - if it works.
Or someone could help me with getting my PVR150 remote working:

Then I could buy one of those harmonies...

Mine works perfectly. Very easy to setup... do a search on A90-00007 and you'll find a thread with the installation details.

Here is a little update to my odessey for a good remote. Depspite the recommendations for some of the higher end remote (like the harmony's) I was really looking for something a little easier on the wallet. I decided on the ATI Remote wonder (original, not model 2). I really liked the idea of it being a radio remote which meant I would be able to hide the receiver. I could not have been more unhappy with it. At it's best it was unresponsive. At worst it would ignore my buttons completely. This happend more then anything. After using it for about 6 weeks, I finally gave up on it.
I purchased the microsoft MCE A9O-00007 media remote as written about above. I have to also recommend this remote for. It cost less then $50 from newegg (although if you add in the remote wonder I spent close to the Harmony ) and works great. I was also able to get the TV power and volume programed to the remote so that I can now control both the TV and the mythbox from one remote.
I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a remote to control their TV and mythbox. Of course if you are looking to control your stereo etc, the more expensive remotes would be better.

I have a SONY RM-VL900 that was reccommended by others in a different thread. I got it used off eBay for $17. I believe it retails for about $60. It has plenty of buttons (all of which can learn other remotes) and it seems to control my A/V gear better than the stock remotes they came with. The programming ("learning") was a snap. It's a little on the heavy side and takes 4 x AA size batteries, but all in all, I think it's a great remote for a Myth based A/V system.

I am thrilled with my RadioShack 15-2116 remote. It controls everything in my entertainment center including the lights via X10. It is supported out of the box with R5B7 and is well documented here:
http://wilsonet.com/mythtv/remotes.php
The remote gets even better when you open up the battery case and find out it can be programmed from your computer with the uber-cool JP1:

Any of the JP1-compatible remotes are probably all great.

Are you using the kernel module or LIRC? I use the kernel module for the ATI Remote wonder and, while not completely dissatisfied, I must agree it gets unresponsive at times; I was wondering if using Lirc was different but I can't try it myself without reinstalling everything as my Lirc seems seriously broken (probably for previous efforts of installing an Aver DVB-T 771 remote whose consequences remain after several updates).

For the Remote Wonder, I used the LIRC. Never tried the Kernel.
It seemed to me that the responsiveness of the remote was affected by how busy the CPU was. Just a hunch as I never did any testing with it. It seemed that I was always able to get a recording started easy enough but using the remote while a recording was playing was a nightmare. This may have been a result of the underpowered CPU (600Mhz Celeron) but the MCE has had no problem.
