hey,

i bought me an terratec usb dvb-t reciever. Everything works fine. When i record something and look it on my computer, not the mythtv-computer, it looks great. But if i look this record on the mythtv it looks like slow motion. watching tv with it looks the same.

I've got an P4 2.4 Ghz with 512 MB DDR 266, 40 GD HDD IDE

Can somebody help me??

Maybe there is a update for libmpeg or something else which can fix my problem.

Any chance you could tell us what kind of video card you are using and whether it is using svideo, composite etc... You mention it does the same thing while watching TV, but not anything you did when you set the system up.

For example, on a MX4000 PCI card, after I install, I have to go in and rename the XF86Config-4.nvidia-tvout.sample (or whatever it's called) to XF86Config-4. Then restart to get the Nvidia driver correctly set up to dut the video out the svideo port. I wouldn't recommend that if you're running a non-Nvidia card though.

I'm no expert, and might not have an answer, but here's a suggestion of the kind of info we might need (some of which you have already supplied):
Motherboard:
Processor
Video Card (be specific)
Sound Card
HD speed (7200, 5400)
PC model (if it's not custom-built)
Steps you have taken to troubleshoot the problem
Does the sound seem slow, or just the video
Is the video slow, or just dropping a large number of frames
etc...


If I were to just make a guess, I'd guess that the video is running in vesa. In other words--without using a driver (like Nvidia or ATI's).

Slow motion usually means that the mythfrontend isn't able to use XVideo. If you look at the console (either via Alt-Tab, or by looking in the file ~mythtv/.xsession-errors), you will probably see some warnings about not being able to open XVideo.

If that is the case, you need to setup the X Windows server for your display card.

yes i did, but nothing happens. I downloaded the driver from the ati homepge but the drivers there supports the radeon cards upper to 8500 but i have a radeon 7500. So where can i find the driver for this card.

Sorry, as I don't use an ATi (do have one for testing) I assume the drivers would support your card. Unfortunately...

I am having the same problem. If you look in your /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 file and go down to the Section "Device" part look for the Driver setting. My said vesa so I changed it to ATI and now video play is fast and smooth.

My problem now is this only work on a computer monitor. The S-video to my TV has a bad frequency and I cannot see the picture.

I hope this is helpfull and you have better luck then I did.

i made it!!!


the problem was the way the live-TV should be encoded. I changed this setting to bob (2xfps) and now it works realy good.
