Well I bought an IR Receiver on line last year from a gentleman named Dustin. I followed these instruction last year when I had KM R5a16 and it work perfectly. Now I upgarded to r5B7 and it doesn't seem to work.

I use to just run the command modprobe lirc_serial type=1 and it would work. I even had it in a start up script, so when the box rebooted it worked. Now it won't work, and some of the file locations seemed to have changed for lirc.

Anyone ever use an IRDEO format IR receiver? I know the receive does work, so I guess I just need to know how to change the format LIRC is expecting.

Thank you,
Marc

Try upgrading to r5c7 and then when asked if you have a homebrew irblaster, say yes. specify the com port. Select one of the offered config files. Then when it starts, stop the irblaster daemon
Code:
su
Password:
/etc/init.d/irblaster stop
Then run:
Code:
mode2 -d /dev/irblaster
The reason I suggest using the irblaster method is because it does a lot of the configuration for setting up the lirc_serial module for you.
