Hello,

As with many posts here, I am fairly new to Linux as the media station. I have used Linux off and on on my desktop, though.

I install KnoppMyth onto my media PC (previously running Meedio). Everything went smoothly, including my PVR-USB2. I have my PC hooked up to a Sanyo PLV-70 projector via DVI. This projector will support 1360x768 natively over DVI, however, it only announces that it will support upto 1024x768. I have copied my PowerStrip modeline from my Windows configuration to the XF86Config-4.

After adding this line, I still am only getting the 1024x768 display. I know I should upload my XF86Config-4 file and my log file first, but I am currently at work. Any ideas before I get home and get those files?

Tim

check the log file and see if for some reason the driver doesn't like that modeline. The log file lists all the modelines that it rejects and why.

Ok, the log file shows:

Code:
(WW) RADEON(0): Mode 1360x768@60 is out of range.
(WW) RADEON(0): Valid modes must be between 320x200-1024x768

The problem is that the EDID information supplied by the projector says that it can only handle upto 1024x768. However, that is not true. I am successfully using the 1360x768 mode in Windows on this same PC.

Is there any way to have X ignore the EDID data and use that modeline anyway?
