Delete the file /root/.mythtv/TV.xmltv
Code:
rm  /root/.mythtv/TV.xmltv

It seems that if I remove the config file it hangs, and with it it hangs, both times because its waiting for input...
Without a config file it asks you for each channel individualy as with mythfilldatabase --manual

With a config file it waits for you to confirm if you want to overwrite the file or not.....

Am I doing something stupid here?

I managed to do a manual mythfilldatabase from command prompt ok, its the GUI that doesnt seem to work.

I running from memory here, so I may be wrong.

As I understand it, the GUI does two things:

1. It calls the tv_grab.... script which goes and fetches the channel definitions and creates a file <source>.xmltv

So if you name your source "freeview", the resulting file will be freeview.xmltv

2. It calls mythfilldatabase with this specific xmltv file as the input.

Now in the case of the UK grabber, the GUI isn't st up to handle this, so it "hangs" at 50% and you have to switch to the console window and answer the questions. In theory if you do this, once finished the GUI will run mythfilldatabase using the <source>.xmltv file that was created

Cheers,

Keith

Im really getting confused here... :(

Ok, it doesnt show up in a console, so the prompt is lost under the GUI, no way to answer the prompt. It seems the GUI way is lost to me.

Now, if I run the script myself I can tell it to download all channels ok, i now have a HUGE xml file with the details in.
I can also import this into the database using,
mythfilldatabase --file 1 -1 channels.xmltv

However, this actualy creates NEW channels in the database that dont match my tuned channels.
Because im using DVB, you cant set the frequency after the channel is created. I end up with a list of channels from the channel scan, and a second list of channels from the xml import.

How am I meant to get these to match up so the program guide goes into the correct channels?

Ok, for all those stuck with this STUPID problem

ALT+TAB will take you to the command prompt requiring input.

Nice of nobody to mention that to me, I only found out by accident looking at another problem.

Now, I get an error 512 when it tries to autorun mythfilldatabase, but if I run it manualy from a command line, it works.

Any ideas?
