I have an R5B7 system that's been upgraded to SVN revision 10010 (previously 9999 and 9846 before it). While troubleshooting an unrelated issue, I deleted and re-setup the capture card and data source. When I ran mythfilldatabase my channel list was messed up. To make a long story short, 5 of the 78 channels had a freqid that did not match the channel and the rest had 0. Manually changing the freqid to the correct channel number then running mythfilldatabase --refresh-all seemed to get the channels back in order, but I can't watch LiveTV.

The card is setup correctly because I can record programs via the program guide. The capture card recording settings are the same for default recording (works) and LiveTV (fails). When I try to watch Live TV I get the following error repeated many times in mythbackend.log:

Code:
2006-05-24 22:17:26.959 DB Error (insert_program -- insert):
Query was:
INSERT INTO recorded    (chanid,    starttime,   endtime,         title,                subtitle,  description, hostname,        category,             recgroup,  autoexpire,  recordid,        seriesid,             programid, stars, previouslyshown, originalairdate,      findid,    transcoder,  playgroup,       recpriority,          basename,  progstart,   progend,         profile,              duplicate) VALUES  (NULL,   '2006-05-25T06:19:15',     '2006-05-24T23:15:05',           '',               '', '',       'mythtv',       '',            'Default', 1,    0,       '', '',0,      0,         '1900-01-01',         0,   0, 'Default',      0,         '_20060525061915.mpg', '2006-05-24T22:15:05',  '2006-05-24T23:15:05',        'Default',             0)
Driver error was [2/1048]:
QMYSQL3: Unable to execute query
Database error was:
Column 'chanid' cannot be null

I'm not terribly worried about it since I rarely watch LiveTV, but I'd like to get everything in working order again.

Go to:

http://<your_mythbox>/mythweb/settings/channels

make sure that all the "channum" fields are filled in.

They are and in fact were throughout all my troubleshooting. Once I entered the "freqid" of each channel they started showing up in the correct spots and with the correct logos. However, now recording programs works where LiveTV does not: same recording settings, same capture card, etc.

Update: I went back into mythtv-setup and changed the channel that it should try to go to next time LiveTV came up. Apparently when the channels were bad it was left on a bad channel number. Changing it to a good number made LiveTV work again.
