After trying other distro's I have come the closest with knoppmyth to get anything close to acceptable.

I have changed my modules to reflect the "bttv card=34 tuner=43" and "tuner type=43" to get the tuner working.

Problem is poor hissy sound when playing through mythtv. with tvtime it sounds good.

In mythtv-setup i have set capture at 48khz

In mythfrontend i have gone into setup and matched it

I installed gamix and have messed around with it until i determined that if i took the right channel and captured AUX-IN (cable connected to this one) and left channel i made CD-IN i got rid of the hissing and the sound was half decent.

Now my problem is that it only comes out of the one speaker. How do i get it to be over both speakers? As soon as I switch the left back to AUX-IN i get the terrible hissing sound.

Second problem I have with sound is that when playing back in mythtv, I have ether no sound 0%-1% or VERY loud 2%-99% no difference in volume from 2 to 99%
