I seem to be getting the errors below, I was wondering if anyone else out there had run into the same thing on the new version.

I have tried what I think is all the settings to burn to ISO on the NEW R5C7. It produces a ISO image (and I had even tried several ISO burners to make sue that was not the issue). However, I am only able to get to the front page of the archived show. When I select the show I get static (the recording is good and I am recording on 720 x 480).

This problem happens on several DVD players.
I can "browse" in the video file on a PC and play it (minus the audio). I think the "link" may be broke or not being written properly.

***Update 5-27-06- after doing some more research, I have found that XvFb is not running. I am not sure if it is required for the new version of mythburn or not. Also it looks like the same error the person who wrote in on "MYTHBURN ERROR IN R5C7 - CAN'T CONNECT TO X11 WINDOW SERVER" was having.

Could it be a permission problem ???

Any help would be great. Thanks,

I'm getting essentially the same error using a fresh install of R5C7. With no modifications to the setup, a DVD of my recorded shows gets burned with apparently no problems (a first, I might add). However, when I select any show, I get dumped out of xine back to the MythTV menus.

The problem I was having was fixed by running ProjectX in "headless" mode as explained in the post tjc linked to above.

However, I have noticed the same problem cmaines is experiencing - and it happens in Myth, on my set top DVD player, and on my XP computer with PowerDVD... It would appear that the menu's aren't properly linked to the video files.

If I play around with the buttons on my set top DVD player, I can get it to play the first show on the DVD, but the menu isn't behaving as it should.

Below is the error I believe is causing the problem:

Code:
80731
92264
Chapter list for this recording - should be 9 entries...
00:00:00.00,00:06:24.24,00:12:49.19,00:19:14.13,00:25:39.08,00:32:04.02,00:38:2$

Anybody have any ideas about how to fix so DVD menus work properly?

I am getting the same menu problems on a clean R5C7 install.

Mostly Marking this thread for future reference. But I'm seeing the same thing on a clean install of R5C7. Just tested out the burning last night, and it appears to work, but the menu links just exit the dvd. I can play the first video on the dvd by hitting play on my set top dvd player, but that's it. I should have more time to look into it this evening.

Hi People,

The problem is with gdm, restart gdm for mythburn to work.

To fix the problem just restart the following below:

/etc/init.d/gdm restart

The link for the guys that figured it out is:

Actually, the solution to the problem I was having was given in:

http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=10400

Having to do with the parameters of a script getting passed in the wrong order. In case anyone ends up finding this thread looking for the answer.
