Hi,
I've been playing around with KnoppMyth for about a week now.
I have a P4 2.4 Ghz machine. I have PVR-150 and ATI TV Wonder VE. I finally got the installation to work. I had to manually select/specify the tuner cards.

When I hit Watch TV, nothing happens. So I tried to schedule a recording, but every time I go to the program scedule, MythTV crashes..(when i hit the down arrow) The program data was downloaded ok, because I can search for programs. WHen I schedule recordings that way, it does not show up in "sheduled recordings"...

Are these things related? Where can I go and see a log or something of what happened? I did choose "log all events to database" but don't know where or how to go check those out. My previous Linux experience is using Redhat Linux 9 (for running CAD) and Knoppix Live CD.... :(

I decided to do a fresh start tommorrow, but before that I thought I'd ask here. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

two things to try.

1) check /home/mythtv/.xsession-errors to see what error messages are there.

2) run mythfrontend from an xterm and see what error messages are left after the crash.

The only error I saw there was
SIP: username, password or proxy not set

When I hit "Watch Live TV" it gives the following error:
----
Attempting to change from none to WatchingLiveTV
Using protocol 26
GetEntryAt(-1) failed.
Entry to program failed to get pginfo
TV Error: LiveTV not successfully started
----

Trying to view program guide data crashed MythTV with the following error:

----
You dont have any channels defined in the db.
Guide grid will have nothing to show you.
Segmentation fault.
-----

Both errors mentioned program info, so I ran mythfilldatabase.
Still getting the same errors.

Run mythfilldatabase. Make sure you do it as the mythtv user and not as root. I'm pretty sure there are fairly detailed directions around somewhere... A search of the wiki for "mythfilldatabase" should turn up at least a couple since it's part of the cure for any number of problems.

thanks tjc, but as I said in my post, I tried that. Now I tried again, making sure the user is mythtv. Still the same problem. I'll search the wiki like you said.

Go back into mythtv-setup, and under video sources one of the buttons there should let you download your channel line up. I've actually got a walk through posted around here somewhere for doing a basic setup. Ah, here it is, see the 4th post in this thread - http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=9424

While your set up is slightly more complicated with two cards, the difference is incremental. Set up both cards, associate the tuners on both cards with the video source, ...
