im having a small prob with the 250 where when recording (i havnet got to experiment with live tho) where when the screen goes black or mostly black (like a little bit of credits and a black screen) the sound and the picture skips badly, but only with black screens will none or vary little picture with it.

any sugestions on what could be wrong, maby a sugestion that could fix it?
i did try turning the ress to 720x480 and bitrate to 5600 but no diffrence
any one else with this prob?

Have you checked to make sure dma is on for the harddrive, if this is not it I have no suggestions. never heard of anyone having that kind of problem.

yep dma is on, it just werd and anoying once the picture has less black its fine but wile its mostly black it skips and sounds like its slowed down, kinda iritateing, on credits its no biggie but when its the classic all you can see is say the eyes and the sound is hard to compriheand its a pain (futuraman, famly guy, simpsons and such)

Kaziya,

A couple of things. For one, can you make sure that your system is set up to your MPEG-2 hardware decoder for the recording profile instead of one of the software methods? Also, run 'top' on the system while it is behaving this way to see if something is eating up your CPU. Maybe your video card is not using DRI and mythfrontend is eating up all of your resources.

i dont think its as much resources ill check tho, because it happens the same points (i recorded a rerun and the errors happened at the same part of the eppisode, lack of resources would be more random i would think) and the same kind of points related to black screen or mostly black

yep yep, newest version off of the site
ill test by watching the mpeg on my second box
tonight to makesure its not in the playback

well you probably should have stuck with the version that comes with knoppmyth. I don't know of any problems like you are talking about with the newest one, but I think if nothing else the overscan is still broken.
