I have a Hauppauge PVR-150 MCE and would like to be able to hook the tuner directly to the cable and hook the composite video and L/R audio output from my cable box to the composite/audio inputs. This will allow me to set MythTV to record one thing while I watch another. So, I have three questions:
1) Is it possible?
2) How do I set up/use/switch to the composite in?
3) Can I use both at the same time? (i.e., record one show from the tuner and another from the composite.)
Thanks.

It will only be possible to watch one live show or record one show at a time. To switch between the two inputs you could press y while watching live tv or in myth setup you assign your analog channels to your analog input and for digital you assign the digital channels. This will make it so that when you change from an analog to a digital channel it will change input to composite.

Interesting. I don't mind only one signal at a time going to the PVR, but the other day I was recording a 2 hour program for my wife and I couldn't channel surf because I had Myth's cable coming out from the cable box. I CANNOT STAND the spokeswoman for US Cellular. I don't know why. I just hate her. It was KILLING me not to be able to change it when she came on. If I had had it set up the way I was talking, I could have been recording on Myth and channel surfing on the cable box.
As for the higher channels, I have the PVR-150 MCE. To my knowlege, the IRBlaster for that doesn't work yet, so it's kind of pointless to even set up the higher channels. (It's not the serial one. It plugs into a port on the reciever.) I guess I just need to set up one channel set to the composite. It would be kind of nice to have it inline with the rest of the channels since there is no 'input' button on the remote. I have a Harmony 880 I will eventually be setting this up on, so that won't always be a problem.
Enough rambling. Thanks for the help!

get a cable splitter so that you can have one cable going to your settop and the other cable go into your pvr-150. Then leave your composite that runs from your settop to your pvr-150.

Yep. Already have that, just have it after the box going to the VCR and Myth. I'll just get rid of the splitter and run it from the VCR so that I can still copy home VHS recordings to DVD, a thought that has my wife very excited considering the expense of having that done.
