Not just you. I just checked and I have that problem too. With Tuesday next week, and everyting from Thursday next week onwards, but strangely, Wednesday next week looks ok. Might be time to start looking for a new version on www.immir.com/tv_grab_au. I'm currently running version 1.52, but I see the current version is 1.56 modified 2006/06/17 with a changelog of:
Quote:
JavaScript tested and closeup parsing fixed (for the moment) plus
# fixed memory leak due to TreeBuilder tree in get_details not being
# deleted. Fixed problems with some closeup pages empty producing
# empty title fields causing XMLTV to barf! Bad karma.
Looks like the dude maintaining it is right on top of things!

LOL.

After I got the error this morning I actually did download a new version before I posted my question.

I just checked and the file I downloaded this morning was 1.53.

So, in the time I tried to fix this with a new download and posted my question, the maintainer had uploaded a newer version.

You're right.

Kudos to the maintainer!

I fixed this by manually installing the following packages:
http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/ ... 0_i386.deb
http://mirror.isp.net.au/ftp/pub/ubuntu ... 1_i386.deb
http://mirror.isp.net.au/ftp/pub/ubuntu ... 4_i386.deb

Or automatically, using the following:
Code:
sudo apt-get -V install libjavascript-perl

Beware that this upgrades the version of Perl to 5.8.8 also, and if it says it is going to upgrade more than Perl and its modules, then Control-C or quit and do it the manual way that Greg used.

I upgraded on Sunday and got 1.56 (which, sadly entered some rubbish characters in some of the titles and lost me a few recordings).

I now look at http://www.immir.com/tv_grab_au and it is up to 1.58. Note that the changes aren't documented, so I guess they are last-minute bug fixes?

There is a discussion about this grabber going on at:
http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/mythtv/users/209289

This reveals a little more about the versions.

**Take great care with what you install.
Having upgraded to R5C7, got a new card working and getting the new version of the script working, I replicated the hard-drive. Sadly I hadn't tested a reboot and something I had grabbed when getting the javascript engine (I think) broke my install to the point where it wouldn't boot. Two copies of a broken system :(

Now I'm back to the point of trying the script upgrade again... but I'll just grab the required debs.

I have updated from version 1.53 to 1.60 and I get a Javascript error when I try to run it. I have tried both Greg's and Nigel's fixes but neither work. I can't find the package when I try it Nigel's way.

Code:
Can't locate JavaScript.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /etc/perl /usr/local/lib/perl/5.8.8 /usr/local/share/perl/5.8.8 /usr/lib/perl5 /usr/share/perl5 /usr/lib/perl/5.8 /usr/share/perl/5.8 /usr/local/lib/site_perl .) at /usr/bin/tv_grab_au line 84.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/bin/tv_grab_au line 84.

apt-get install libjavascript-perl

should be all you need. Nothing to find - as long as the repositories in the config file have not been messed with, this should work AFAIK.

Thanks I have tried that but get this response:-
Code:
root@mythtv:/home/mythtv# apt-get install libjavascript-perl
Reading Package Lists... Done
Building Dependency Tree... Done
E: Couldn't find package libjavascript-perl

When I do an apt-get udpate this is what I get:-
Code:
root@mythtv:/home/mythtv# apt-get update
Hit http://ftp.us.debian.org stable/main Packages
Hit http://ftp.us.debian.org stable/main Release
Hit http://ftp.us.debian.org stable/contrib Packages
Hit http://ftp.us.debian.org stable/contrib Release
Hit http://ftp.us.debian.org stable/non-free Packages
Hit http://ftp.us.debian.org stable/non-free Release
Reading Package Lists... Done

Am I missing the required respository?

When at first you don't succeed try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try, try.... again.

I found the package at
http://packages.debian.org/cgi-bin/download.pl?arch=i386&file=pool%2Fmain%2Flibj%2Flibjavascript-perl%2Flibjavascript-perl_0.52-4_i386.deb&md5sum=2b753954a26e4e83af11dde98f4a15f3&arch=i386&type=main

Pick the mirror that is closest to you and do a dpkg -i and away you go.

I think apt-get failed because that package is under unstable. Your apt-get update only lists stable sources.
