Have tried many of the recommendations in the bttv threads and the ones for getting btaudio working.

bttv has the following

options bttv autoload card=63 pll=1 tuner=2

also tried the module loading instrutions at http://freevo.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/moin.cgi/BttvPage

when trying to load mythbackend it fails due to

'invalid cardid -1'

/dev/video: No such device

any help appreciated

this is probably not the problem, but just to back up and make sure does the card does show up in lspci? If not then you have bigger problems than the driver. Also could be an irq conflict for some reason. you may want to try moving it around to different pci slots.

when i boot it finds the contexant (sp) controller
for tuning... not sure what the issue is now

lspci output is

01:0a.0 Multimedia video controller: Contexant: Unknown device 8800 (rev 05)

When I try to start the myth backend it hangs...

i think i may be better to just go and get a hauppauge pvr 250...

That is the problem.. I guess you have a newer TV Wonder with a contexant chip. i've included the drivers w/ R4V3 but video-buf.o gets an unresolved symbol...

I was thinking that maybe I would sell this to a friend and pickup a hauppauge pvr-250mce...

is this supported or how can I fix the currnet issue at hand?

oh yeah and lsmod has no bttv modules listed....

considering th card maybe too new this is to be expected right

well there are drivers located here but they are alpha level, and those are the drivers that cesman was referring to that he has included in the next version, but is having unresolved symbol issues with, so I would say you'll have a time of getting this card to work.

Depending on the version of the 250MCE it may not work....Until you get and compile the newer ivtv drivers.
