Hi All,

My box has been running well for at least 6 months. I reciently updated my 'myth' partition to use LVM2 with two added hard drives. That went well and now I have a LOT more space for my recordings and music.

My question is...

Some how I ran out of disk space on HDA1 (not my LVM drive I just included that info incase it mattered). I didn't realize I had put anything on HDA1 except some themes I installed reciently. I couldn't start X because it was not able to write an authorization file. I went in and deleted the linux games that come preinstalled and that gave me enough space to restart my box. However when I went to restart it again I was magically out of space again.

What can I do to free up some disk space so I don't keep running into this error? What can I safely get rid of in my HDA1 partition? (everything execpt what is in my 'myth' folder)?!?

Any help is GREATLY appriciated

The first step is to see what keeps filling it up. Do a
Code:
du -hs /*

to get a list of the size of all directories under the root directory. You can do the same 'du' command inside a subdirectory that you suspect of filling up, until you get to the point of finding the culprit files. For example, it could be /var/log/messages, /usr/tmp, or so on.

In particular, check mysql.log to see if it's gigabytes in size.
