I've done an automatic install of R5c7. Everything seemed to go very well.

The following problem has occured on every start-up since installation.

After X launches a terminal window opens and requests my root password. I go through all the setup pages until I reach video sources. Even though I don't request it to scan for channels, as soon as I click "finish" I immediately see a progress bar imposed over the main mythtv-setup menu. The progress bar starts at 50% but shows no movement even after 45 minutes (and counting). The screen and program are unresponsive to the escape key or anything else. On an earlier attempt I was able to escape but pressing ctrl-alt-bkspc and killing X. Today not even that works. I'm going to wait another ten minutes make it an even hour then press the reset button.

Anyone care to help me work this out? Thank you kindly.

This is a result of mythfilldatabase hanging on something... <alt><tab> to the xterm to see what is the problem.

Thank you! That has helped. Upon switching back to console I found a prompt waiting for me to respond to a question about tv_grab_jp. I'm back to making progress again.
