Hey Eric,

please do a backup of your whole partition hda1, so you can go back very easily ;) The easiest way is to use knoppix for this and doing an update of hda1 on hda3 using partimage. If I should give you more details, no prob...

Yes, going svn will update all parts of Mythtv, but there is no problem with that ;)

You have to do this special configure in the svn/mythtv directory, the plugins and the themes can be configured only with --prefix=/usr.

The computer will compile the whole thing after entering 'make'. This lasts for a few minutes, depending on your system. On my system the compiling of each part lasts max. 15 minutes...

The database will be upgraded with the first start of the new version, you should loose nothing. If something goes wrong, you have your backup of hda1 containing everything you touched during the svn-update ;)

Any further questions?

Jumping in at the end of the thread... I ALSO had the same problem a few months ago. Completely stumped. I then came across the solution by accident. May not work for you but you may want to try it.

I have an MX4000 video card, which has 128MB aperature size. After fumbling around with almost every CMOS setting I set the aperature size to 64MB. Poof, worked perfect ever since. I have no idea why.

Hey guys, I got my transcoder to work by compiling the latest .19 fixes but now my cut points wont save, as soon as I leave the recording and go back there gone. So when I transcode it works for a few minutes on the recording only to do nothing to it!
I'm thinking this is a problem with my database. If so, Is there a way to fix it without erasing my database and starting from scratch?
P.S. The cut points did save before I installed the latest fixes.
