I am thinking of building a PVR with multiple TV Capture cards and I had a quick question from people who might have built one before:

I am going to use an IR blaster and a digital cable box as my main (live tv) viewing card (Hauppauge PVR-350) but record mainly from regular cable channels that are going to come from straight coaxle and be recorded through PVR-250's or 150's. My question is will the quality be noticably different from the Digital box and from the direct coaxle?

hard to answer. In my case with comcast in nashville tn even when you are using the digital box your regular channels are still analog (the exact same thing you get off the wire without a box) so there is no difference, they both suck, but I've heard in some areas all channels are digital from the box in which case there may be a difference.
