Are Hauppage PVR-150 with Remote A415-HPG and newest Knoppmyth R5C7 supposed to work? Mine dosen't, but should it work? And everybody seem to recomend different things to get it to work, are there any new and sure way to fix it? I think I have already broken my install after fiddeling around, and are now going to reinstall. I bought my pvr-150 and remote used, so I'm not sure it's broken or not, or if it's a software problem.

The remote looks like this one http://mikenet.iwarp.com/cgi-bin/i/Myth ... ote_HQ.jpg

Verify you have the IR reciever plugged in correctly. That connection can be a PIA I have had it not plug in all the way a few time because it hits the metal that seperates the expansion slots.

I removed that metal, and it still dosent work.

Edit:
I tested the remote with an old reprogramable VCR-remote which reacted against the hauppage one, so the hauppage remote and it's batteries atleast work.

What should happen of that remote with IRW is should open a console and as you hit buttons on remote should see corresponding key codes and button names appear on screen.

Try reconfiguring lirc

From console

Code:
lirc-reconfig.sh

Choose 16, for Happauge, and D. for PVR-150 w/ transmitter reciever. Reboot and see if it works out of irw and myth frontend.

If that doesn't work repeat trying

Choose 16, for Happauge, and C. A415-HPG. Reboot and see if it works out of irw and myth frontend.

Do you have more than one PVR card in the box? Full hardware details might be helpful.

@gfg

This is what irw output should look like.
Code:
root@P500backend:~# irw
0000000000001781 00 1 Hauppauge_350
0000000000001782 00 2 Hauppauge_350
0000000000001782 01 2 Hauppauge_350
0000000000001783 00 3 Hauppauge_350

That is running irw command and pressing keys 1 - 3.

If you are getting the "connection refused message" that means that lirc isn't seeing the ir reciever.

Earlier you mention you tried some other stuff. What was that other stuff? If you haven't gotten to far into use KM maybe would be good to reinstall from scratch.

Other troubleshooting tips,

Check, double check, triple check that IR connection.
Change PCI slot PVR-150 is in.
Gulp... install another OS perhaps Windows and see if IR reciever works.

I tried reinstalling KnoppMyth, no workie.
I checked the connection with a multimeter, and the connector works as it should.
I installed WindowsXP, and guess what, the remote dosen't work there either.
I tried another PCI-slot, and I'm going to try in another computer later. But could this be the problem?

So I guess either the cable/reciverdiode, or the pvr-150 card itself is broken.

So can anyone try what happens if you pull the cable, same error as for me, or something else? Should it recognize the reciver even if the cable part isn't connected?

Exaktly how does the reciver look like? Is it 2 or 3 "connectors" on the conector? I found another reciever looking thing with a bigger connector which fit in the line in connector on the card.

My cables look like on this picture, but are separate, and there is no where to plug in the thing that look like the transmitter.

My cables does not look like this one with only one connector, htey are sepparated. http://us.st11.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.com/ ... 08_2655683
I wounder if the guy I bought the card from sent me the wrong ones? Was I supposed to get the one on the picture?
