I'm having trouble playing DVDs on my system. I can watch tv fine and have gotten libdvdread3 installed, but only get a flash on the screen from mplayer when playing a DVD.

Trying it from the command with "mplayer dvd:// -dvd-device /dev/hdc -fs -zoom -vo xv -v -v -v -v > err" yields the following:

Any ideas, or am I going to have to try the mplayer mailing list?

I notice you are using Mplayer for DVDs. What version of Mplayer are you using? Do DVD's play through xine?
Hardware specs may help too.

I always use xine, if you're not married to mplayer that maybe easier to get going. The command I use in the settings for DVD playback is:
Code:
xine -pfhq --auto-scan dvd

Thanks,

Xine seems to play it fine. Since I was only using mplayer because it was the Myth default I'll stick with Xine.

I found more info in the wiki.

Thanks alot!
