I am specifying the IP for the backend. I just don't understand where the frontend is getting "localhost" from. Which actual file contains that information, because everything I've checked so far lists the proper IP address.

First off, can you boot off the CD on the frontend system and use it as a frontend?

I can't...since it is an xbox. I just got a tip from someone that got me a little further.

Code:
mysql> update settings set hostname = NULL where value = "MasterServerIP" and data = "192.168.2.148" and hostname ="mythtv";
Query OK, 1 row affected (0.02 sec)
Rows matched: 1 Changed: 1 Warnings: 0

Now my settings look like this:

mysql> select * from settings where data = "192.168.2.148";
+-----------------+-------------+----------+
| value | data | hostname |
+-----------------+-------------+----------+
| MasterServerIP | 192.168.1.5 | NULL |
| BackendServerIP | 192.168.1.5 | mythtv |
+-----------------+-------------+----------+

I'm not really sure why I needed to do that command, but it seemed to have worked.

At this point, I can see the frontend connecting to the proper database IP address, and it can access the mythvideo files, but when I go to recordings, it only lists one recording. Is there any reason why it wouldn't be able to see any of my other recordings?[/code]
