Started building my knoppmyth box today and have it pretty well working except for one thing. When the install gets to the point of formating the hard drive I get an error as follows:

Formatting of /dev/hda1 failed. Some messaged from mkfs.ext3 : mke2fs 1.36 (05-feb-2005) mkfs.est3 : No suce device or address while trying to determine filesystem size.

Also during the boot process my DVD is showing as the primary drive and my harddrive is showing as secondary. It sounds like the drive is spinning up.

I "beleive" I have the jumpers set for cable select. Like I said it has been a while since I have done a build and that was with Windows as the OS and I am a total linux noob.

Can anyone point me in the right direction. I am sooooo close to being done.

Sounds like you are try to do a auto install and the hard drive isn't primary master. You either need to change this and make it primary master or do a manual install.

Thanks I just reset the jumpers from auto select (which is was not doing correctly) and manual set the HD as primary and set the DVD as secondary and it is now happy and installing..... Whoo hoooo
