At my house we have three satellite receivers; what I want to do is centralize the three receivers into a myth server, and then have a myth front end on each of the TVs. However, I have no idea how to go about doing this; how would I control the satellite through a Myth front end? I would rather only have a single remote for each myth front end, but I don't know.

you need a backend (that can also be one of your frontends) with 3 capture cards. each fornt end needs a single remote

the remote controls the front end. the front end asks the backend to select a tuner that can tune to the channel selected.

the backend will use IRBlasters to set teh correct channel on the SAT box

IR blaster which is taped to the sensor for each satellite box in the stack.

The frontend (FE) gets a signal from it's remote, and sends a request to the backend (BE).

The backend runs an external tuning script (examples are included in the install) which talks to the lirc driver, which sends a signal to the IR blaster dongle, which sends photons to the IR sensor in the sat. box, which thinks it just got a signal from it's own remote and changes the channel.

Thanks, I didn't realize such a thing exists. Now that I do, I should be able to find them now.
