HI,

I have never had the issues you are experiencing and other than to try to make a "newer" pvr150 work have never had to update ivtv. R5C7 and a pvr250 should be happy together.

Go for the obvious stuff first as in the setups, check them all. Only thing that has occured for me, is depending on the hardware, sometimes the XF86Config-4 needs a tweak. I use old "junky" computers mostly so I expect an issue here or there :)

What kind of a setup are you running? All we know is a pvr-250. Maybe there are some pointers the other folks may have run accross based on your hardware.

the currently hardware i'm running is an asus pundit, pvr250
i'm using the onboard sis video driver (which seemed to me detected properly) although i also remember some other guy creating some better drivers for this card. however, my video out to tv works fine, so this is not my current issue.

i'm using the onboard sound, haven't even plugged sound in yet but it seems to work. been mostly focusing on video.

thats really all thats in the box, standard dvdrom.

i'm gonna try to see if i can shoot some video out of some other device (maybe my gamecube or something?) with the composite out, and see if my pvr250 picks that up, then i'll know its a "tuner" specific problem, since i know that i've had luck using the svideo/composite jacks on that card in the past.

Hi, I have done the exact same thing and I have the same issues as you.
I was using a cable box and I am now just using basic cable.

I used a manual setup on Mandriva 2006, and the composite/svideo worked great.

I have tried diffrent versions of the IVTV driver, changed Myth to us-cable-irc etc with the same results. It does seem that the tuning is off, but I have not been able to figure it out yet.

I was going to try installing KM, and see if was some distro issue, but I can see that it is not.

I will report any other findings here.

Did people find a fix for this? I'm very new at both Knoppmyth and Linux in general. I installed Knoppmyth today, but when I do a channel scan, it only recognizes some of the channels, and it's always quite sporadic, never registering the same channels twice. The channels it does pick up look like they're scrambled from the cable company. Is there a fix for this? I'm guessing people might suggest I upgrade my IVTV drivers -- if so, how should I do that? Thanks.

See the http://www.knoppmythwiki.org/index.php? ... WatchingTV troubleshooting page on the wiki. The most common problem is simple misconfiguration. If you have a downloadable program guide available scanning for SDTV channels is also a bad idea.
