I'm not having much luck. I've messed around with us-cable-hrc and all those, checked the connections, checked the source settings, and done just about everyhting on those pages in the wiki but nothing seems to work I still get snow and i don't even have 5 and 6 showing up.

Did you look at the log files? What does the ivtv extract from messages look like?

What is your input source? S-Video, Ant.? After LiveTV is running try Alt-X and open a terminal, then try using ivtv to change the channel on the card. If you are coming from a cable or sat box that card needs to be on 3 or 4 (normally). Make sure to wait 4 or 5 seconds after you issue the command before you change to a different channel.
ivtv-tune -c 3 -d /dev/video0 (-c 3, with 3 being the channel to change to)
If this doesnt work then make sure everything is ok in mythtv-setup, especially the card and input source.

input is tuner0 or the coax connection not s video. I have no cabl;e box connected just a cable line. I have a comcast digital cable plan but Im not using the cable box right now since i have no ir blaster. I tryed the thing with alt x it didnt do much. I have checked and rechecked myth setup I will look at the wiki tjc and let you kknow what happens.
