Hi

Gave up on the ZD1201 usb wlan.. So i got a Wlan PCI card. I first tried the WinXP drivers from cdrom with ndiswrapper, and that didn't work. So after some "google" i found a driver from chipset manufacturer www.ralinktech.com. These worked, and i tested it by browsing the internet for an hour. I then wanted to autostart the wlan by issuing the command "ifconfig ra0 inet up" and "dhclient ra0" from a script that also runs a mythfilldatabase auto start after a sleep 60. This froze my PC so i tried removing the wlan card and i was then able to delete the entries in the autostart file. Now i have mounted the wlan card again but when i do a "ifconfig ra0 inet up" the machine freezes! during start i can se a message like this: "rt61: module license 'unspecified' taints kernel"

Any idea what is wrong ?
I will try to check if i miss placed the card in wrong slot, and try reinstalling the driver.. any other ideas ?

Hi

I tried a driver from serialmonkey, this driver freezes the machine. The forum tells me to disable SMP and PREEMPT (done this) but now i have to recompile the kernel.

How do i do that ? (running R5C7)

Okay i found a Howto "howto recompile kernel" under Howto
The driver i found from http://rt2x00.serialmonkey.com/wiki/index.php/Main_Page is now working
