My system seems to be using nuv files still for some reason. I have deleted all the nuv files (accidentally) out of the /tv folder. I then after a day of using my system I found that it appears the live tv is stored as mpg and recorded video is stored as nuv. This system has been upgraded from an A to the B system so I don’t know if that has something to do with it or not. It seems to work and work well so I was just curious as to why.

BTW Thanks to all who make this project work. I use it every single day!

Matt

IIRC Myth stopped using .nuv files with version 0.19
R5Ax used myth 0.18 while R5Bx use 0.19 (well, except R5A22, which used a svn version of 0.19)

So, your old recordings were .nuv files, and your new ones are .mpg

So you just wiped all your old recordings from before you upgraded.

Search for a posting by me that mentions "orphan"... If memory serves the thread contains a fairly clear discussions of the topic as well as script to deal with certain oddities of the old mythlink.sh script.

That is what I was to understand, but even after I have deleted the nuv files, my b7 system (.19) is still recording new recording in as nuv files. I do have a few mpg files files, but they are from watching live tv.

What are the filesizes of the .nuv files? Are they actually links to the .mpg files?

The .nuv files are from 589393369 to 1176769944 in size and they have a png file with them. With dates as new as today.

Hi,

You may want to save a few headaches and get some new ones. Suggest you upgrade to the R5D1 or R5C7 as the .nuv was resolved with those.

The B7 changed from .nuv to .mpg and that confused the house keeping feature of mythlink.sh
