I am still getting the Tuner auto set to Type 4 (Unknown?) followed by "Error Tuner Type not set" in the ivtv logs for my two PVR-150's.
As mentioned in this thread http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=59014&highlight=#59014
This results in pure static. The force set to type 50 may still work as a work around.
That being said I cannot wait to take this new release for a spin (just in time for college football season).

Thanks Cecil and all that were involved for your hard work.

If you needs logs or whatever just let me know.

Did you read the upgrade notes here? http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=11293 The issue with your tuner chip (M2523_5N_E) and the ivtv 0.7.0 drivers is called out explicitly at the bottom of the page.
Quote:
The ivtv 0.7.0 drivers apparently don't like certain PVR-150 cards with the TCL M2523_*_E tuner chips. This is still being looked into.

I'm having the same problem. However, setting type 50 doesn't seem to do anything. Any suggestions?

Bug the v4l folks about it. They (rather than the ivtv developers) apparently now own the "tveeprom.c" part of the driver code which identifies these cards. While it's nice to see this stuff move into the core these chips change much too fast for the kernel release cycle... :? :(

BTW - If you've got a TCL M2523_5N_E it should be type 50 if you've got a TCL M2523_3DB_E try type 55.

I have the 5N, but putting "options ivtv tuner=50" in the ivtv file doesn't do anything. I still get a type 4 unkown tuner message.

Fixed it. I had to put "options ivtv tuner=50" in /etc/modprobe.conf

Thanks, I'll add that to the notes.

Any ideas why I'm not getting any sound? I've tried plugging into the sound card and the pvr150, but no luck with either.

Plase don't hijack threads. Even if it didn't annoy Cecil it would still not be a good idea. A new question deserves a new thread or a follow on to a thread on that particular topic.
