hdd: LS120 drive
hdc: ATAPI 24X DVD-ROM drive, 256kB Cache, DMA
hdd: No disk in drive

ls -al /dev/dvd /dev/cdrom /dev/hdc
grep cdrom /etc/group

I don't have the machine in front of me now, but they were showing the correct info based off of the original posts in this thread. both cdrom and dvd point to hdc and hdc has the root and cdrom groups.
