I have been running Knoppmyth since the release of R5C7 with all functions working so a big thank you to Cecil and everyone who helps in the devlopment of Knoppmyth.
Ok on to my problem with my Hauppauge Remote after upgrade to R5D1, having followed the sticky from tjc all functions worked OK except the Number keys on the remote.
Exiting the Frontend and opening a terminal window and running irw shows all keys working except number keys. Closing irw and pressing the number keys and they show !!
Manually restoring /etc/lirc/hardware.conf and /etc/lirc/lirc.conf restarting lirc gives the same result.
I have tried a clean install to a spare hard drive of R5D1 and reinstated all the lirc conf files, again the number keys will not work.
I have also tried a clean install of R5C7 reinstated all the lirc conf files and the number keys work OK. Upgraded this install to R5D1 and number keys stop working, all other keys are fine.
Any help or pointers where to start fault finding from here appreciated.

Have you tried running lirc_reconfig.sh?

Thanks for the reply Cesman, yes I have tried lirc_reconfig.sh, still no go.
I have moved one of my Nova Ts to another more accessible box and tried the following:-
Clean install of R5C7, SSH from Laptop and Edit /etc/lirc/hardware.conf and /etc/lirc/lircd.conf as follows,

# /etc/lirc/hardware.conf
# Arguments which will be used when launching lircd
LIRCD_ARGS=""

#Don't start lircmd even if there seems to be a good config file
START_LIRCMD=false

#Try to load appropriate kernel modules
LOAD_MODULES=true

# Run "lircd --driver=help" for a list of supported drivers.
DRIVER="default"
# If DEVICE is set to /dev/lirc and devfs is in use /dev/lirc/0 will be
# automatically used instead
# DEVICE="/dev/lirc"

Restart Lirc
Run IRW in Terminal Window and all Remote keys show in window with the correct description from lircd.conf .
I then did a clean install of R5D1 repeated all of above, running irw, this time all keys show in window EXCEPT number keys.
Looking through the changlog I can not see any changes in Lirc between the versions so now I am stumped, not to sure where to look next.
Again any help appreciated.

Which remote you guys choosing from the reconfig lirc script? Try the "dog bone" remote should be pretty compatible with most of the newer Hauppuage remotes.

Well that worked
used dog bone option
I'm sure I tried that option before but this time I restarted the frontend.

Thanks for making me try it again

Ok, so still unable to get Numbers Keys working in R5D1, because nobody else appears to be having this problem I am starting to assume that it must be something that I am doing/not doing, so I will go through all the steps that I have taken so far in the hope that someone will spot what is wrong.
The Test Hardware (but all steps have also been tried on my regular Knoppmyth box)
Gigabyte Intel 845 M/Board, Celeron 2.7Gh, 512MB RAM, Nvidia FX5200,
Hauppagge Nova T (9002) A415 OH/S1-4 On battery cover.

The hardware.conf and lircr.conf files

Code:
# /etc/lirc/hardware.conf
# Arguments which will be used when launching lircd
LIRCD_ARGS=""

#Don't start lircmd even if there seems to be a good config file
START_LIRCMD=false

#Try to load appropriate kernel modules
LOAD_MODULES=true

# Run "lircd --driver=help" for a list of supported drivers.
DRIVER="default"
# If DEVICE is set to /dev/lirc and devfs is in use /dev/lirc/0 will be
# automatically used instead
# DEVICE="/dev/lirc"
# MODULES="lirc_dev lirc_i2c"
DEVICE="/dev/input/event2"
DRIVER="dev/input"

Code:
# /etc/lirc/lircd.conf

end remote

Clean Install R5C7, Edit hardware.conf and lircr.conf, reboot to be on safe side!, exit frontend, ALT X to terminal, enter irw, and press keys on remote and ALL keys repeat on screen.

Clean Install R5D1, Edit hardware.conf and lircr.conf, reboot to be on safe side!, exit frontend, ALT X to terminal, enter irw, and press keys on remote and all keys repeat on screen EXCEPT NUMBER keys.
If I try the upgrade path the same thing happens.
I have tried the all the hauppauge options from the reconfig lirc script to no avail.
I have even tried a clean install of Ubuntu 5.1, installed LIRC, edit the files to as above and all the keys work. It is only in R5D1 that I am having this problem.
Hoping someone can come up with an answer or suggestions to this, else I am going to have to stick with R5C7 until the next release.
Thanks in advance.

Add on to my previous post.
Just noticed that in R5C7 in a terminal window without running irw,pressing the remote number keys produce:-
1 = nothing
2 = ~
3 = ~ and beep from speaker
4 = backspace
5 = beep from speaker
6 = beep from speaker
7 = backspace
8 = repeats last command
9 = ~
0 = ~

R5D1 in a terminal window without running irw, pressing the remote number keys produce:-
1 = 1
2 = 2
3 = 3
And so on.

Not to sure what this means, hoping some does !

I'm having the same problem. I had it working yesterday with the dog bone option. Power Failure. Now nothing. I tried all the remotes again. dog bone,silver etc. nothing.

I have the exact same remote as yours.

Hey guys,

I expect your problem is related to the one I was having check out my post - http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic. ... 1585#71585.

Don't forget to follow the other walkthrough through first.
