1. What is the point of posting this if you are going to do this later? No, I don't expect or care for an answer.

2. On topic...

3. Off-topic. Start a new thread.

If setting up LVM is confusing, why muddy the waters w/ off-topic items? After installing KnoppMyth and the system reboots. Before you do anything:
<ctrl><alt><f1>
log in as root and run the create_lvm script.
After the script runs, type mount. What do you see? I'd ever go as far as recommending you reformat the other drives before running the create script...

Well,

It turns out that I was just making a rather silly mistake ... of course. I did Ctrl+Alt+F1 as soon as the computer booted up after the install of KnoppMyth and ran the LVM shell script with the correct parameters for my hard drive. I followed the example on the web to closely and didn't look close enough at my drives. This is what worked for me:
Code:
create_lvm.sh /dev/hda3 /dev/hdb5

The example on the web used "hdb1" which sounded logical but for some reason my second hard drive is "hdb5". Once I did that everything went much smoother. I was able to run the mke2fs command without issue and mount /myth once again. So that issue has been tackled ... I still have the directv channel changing problem but I'll start a new thread to try and get help for diagnosing the problem there.

Thanks for everyone's help!

I think I am having the same issue where my hard drive is not /dev/hdb1. The automated script is telling me it cannot find it. When I cfdisk /dev/hdb1 it gives me a read only error. If I cfdisk /dev/hdb it will come up with the hard drive as unpartitioned space. What should I run with the create_lvm.sh script if it right after an Auto-install and before I put in the root password on initial boot?

My hard drives are as follows:

Primary Master: 250 gig
Primary Slave: 250 gig
Secondary Master: DVD
Second Slave: CD-Burner

Ye. Use fdisk or cfdisk to create a single partition on that drive of type 83. The LVM tools will set the right type later. When I wrote that script I deemed it safer to expect the names of exisiting partitions. I included this step in the instructions on the wiki - http://www.knoppmythwiki.org/index.php?page=LvmHowTo but I'll see if I can clarify the wording to make it more obvious what you need to do.

After I do this, how can I verify the size?

At what level? Try using webmin since I think it lets you look at it from the partion tables, up through the lvm volumes, all the way up to the filesystem size.
