I'm getting this error with the database.
2006-09-14 01:56:41.353 New DB connection, total: 2
2006-09-14 01:56:41.354 Connected to database 'mythconverg' at host: localhost
2006-09-14 01:56:58.779 DiSEqCDevTree, Warning: No device tree for cardid 1
2006-09-14 01:56:59.504 DiSEqCDevTree, Warning: No device tree for cardid 1
I deleted all my tuners and tried again. Now I can not add any new tuners or set them up. Mythtv-setup just hangs when trying to setup a video source.
Heads up on this one.

So far OTA HDTV has been working great with .20. Running P4 3.0Ghz with a nvidia 5600.
No problems with DVD's either. I guess I'm lucky..

After some tinkering, i finally got .20 running thanks to the knoppmythwiki. Only problem I am having is when i tried to add the knoppmyth button, I dont have a knoppmyth.xml for it to link to, so it crashes, so i was wondering if anybody could post the contents of this file. It should be in /usr/share/mythtv. Thanks everbody:)

I think I'm experiencing the version 0.20 Internal Player problems, too. I performed the 0.20 update procedure given by Cecil in post:
http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=11558
I didn't see any error messages or problems during or after the upgrade, so I believe it completed successfully.
Thus far, I have not been able to play a commercial dvd using the new 0.20 Internal Player - even though I reran the script in the directory:
/usr/share/doc/libdvdread3/examples
Before the 0.20 upgrade, XINE played all dvds without problem.
With recorded HDTV programs, I'm now getting jerky playback from the new 0.20 internal player.
HDTV playback is perfect with R5D1.
I also see on screen display (OSD) artifacts left on screen after the OSD message fades away.
OSD messages are still black and white with XvMC turned on.
I did not see any improvements in Mythtv 0.20 performance when compared with KnoppMyth R5D1. In fact, except for the non-functional video transcoding function, R5D1 works pretty well on my machine. I'm heading back to R5D1!:!:

It's because you have an Athlon 64. Something happened to make Athlon 64s less effective at video playback at some point in KM's development. I'm working on identifying the root cause.

I think Semprons are affected as well. I've got a 3100+, and playback used to be smooth for HDTV.

It's probably a sempron64, and therefore affected with the hd playback problem.

At the risk of being accused of highjacking this thread....
To neutron68's point, the only issue I have with R5D1 is the broken 'lossless transcoding'. Normally I wouldn't care, but XBMCMythTV commercial skipping is broken since I upgraded from R4V5. Is there a fix out there that can be applied to D1 for this?
Thanks,
Gonz

So do Athlon 64's only affect HD playback? If I upgrade to 0.20 will I have issues if I'm only doin' SD playback?

Yes, it's only Athlon64's where we've seen this. It uses about 50-60% more CPU than it did before, which will hose you royally if you were playing 1080i at 70% CPU before, but even the slowest A64 I'm aware of would still have plenty of bandwidth for SDTV. E.g. my A64 3200+ jumped from 12-13% CPU used for playback to 19-20% used.

Ah, okay. That's good. I have a 3800 that I'm using for SD right now. Thinkin' 'bout goin' to HD, but that won't be for a while.

If you're using MythTV 0.20 with an Athlon/Sempron 64 CPU, please run these commands as root:
Code: apt-get update apt-get install mpeg2dec
Then switch to the Standard mpeg2 decoder option in your TV playback options. Please let me know what results you get. I saw a 20% drop in CPU usage. There are still problems with libmpeg2 and xvmc, though.
