I did a clean install of R5D1 and MytTV 0.20 and copied my music back over to the music directory, but I can't access from mythweb. NO icon or menu item for it.

Do I have to reset MythWeb somehow? I did search for an answer, think I'm tired, should probably stop tinkering huh...

Hi,

After you copied it into /myth/music did you do a rescan for it to be marked properly into the db? Also check your setup/utilities to have the proper /myth/music path.

I like my tunes also, usually grab the Prairie Home compaion on the weekends :)

Yes and yes, all works fine under MythTV, but there is no link to my music from MythWeb (there used to be an icon for it and also a link from the main menu...)

Hi,

If it "thinks" the folder is empty then the icon does not appear. Check your setup/utility settings to ensure paths are all correct. I don't recall there being any issue with the music... but then again, I forget stuff too.

I checked setup/utility and the path is /myth/music

I have all my music in directories underneath that such as;

/myth/music/Aerosmith
/myth/music/miscellaneous

and so on. Is that the problem? Should all the music be in the /myth/music and organized into different directories?

Hi,

Does the music show under the myth music menu and you can play them? Only missing from mythweb?

Thanks for the help Mike,

Thats correct, everything is available under myth music, just not from mythweb. There's no icon for it or menu item from the main mythweb menu. I've even moved more more music into the myth/music/ path and rescanned several times and then retried mythweb, but still get nothing.

Hi,

Ok, but I don't recall any issues with myth music and D1... May want to do a
$ ls -al /myth
and also
$ /myth/music
to ensure all is owned by mythtv.

Also do
$ ls /myth/music/music
there should not be anything

otherwise it may take some digging to see if anyone else has had that experience.

Thanks again,

If I don't reply for a couple days it's because I'm traveling, leaving for Ukraine today, be back next Sunday. I'll be able to check messages, just won't be able to make any changes to the system until then.

Okay

Code:
mythtv@mythtv:/$ ls -al /myth

Hi,

Your shopping list looks simular to mine :) Anyway, all looks correct for the directories. Will have to look in the forum as maybe there was a php script that needs something.

There are some very bright folks on the forum and someone will give a clue.

Have a safe trip.

I had the same problem after performing a clean install of R5D1 and upgrading to mythtv 0.20a (followed the instructions in the sticky thread)

After some checking i saw the mythweb music module checks a sql table (musicmetadata) for records, and if none found the music module will not show up in your mythweb main page. I tried scanning for new music with my frontend, but the sql table stayed empty.

So i changed the php file to scan for a different table (music_songs) and then it worked.

u should look for this file : /var/www/mythweb/modules/music/init.php
and change the line
[code]$has_music = $db->query_col('SELECT COUNT(*) FROM musicmetadata');
[/code]to this line
[code]$has_music = $db->query_col('SELECT COUNT(*) FROM music_songs');[/code]

not sure if this is the good way to fix it (and wether it's a bug or something not updating from the knoppmyth release mythtv to the mythtv0.20a , but it works for me)

next on my list is installing mythstreamweb into mythweb

There's a fix for this further along the 0.20-fixes branch. You seem to have hit it on the head: [url]http://svn.mythtv.org/trac/changeset/11197[/url]

The 0.20-fixes branch has a lot of changes from even the DEBs that Cecil posted for use with R5D1. You can see all the updates on that branch here: [url]http://svn.mythtv.org/trac/log/branches/release-0-20-fixes[/url] Unfortunately with change happening this fast it's really hard to keep up.
