I've been trying to figure out what version of MythTV is included with the latest Knoppmyth, and as far as I can tell it's .19, and there are several posts in this forum that talk about compiling .20. Is there an official Knoppmyth with version .20 available? soon?

Currently it's 0.19-fixes. This thread talks about building 0.20 on top of that. Presumably, 0.20 is being worked on. I have gone back to 0.19, and will stay there until there is an official 0.20 and KRP/Dragon is shipping with 0.20.

The R5D1 km release only just came out in the last few weeks with .19 mythtv. Considering how much work is involved in a normal release, how much more work a release will be with mythtv .20, and the fact that the km guy (cecil?) is doing it for free and in his spare time, I wouldn't expect a km with .20 any time soon.

Personally, I'm very happy with .19. I'll let everyone else work out the bugs on .20 rather than upgrade now.

I'm running .20a (fixes) on my R5C7 system now. It's as stable as .19 and I am running it with a PVR350 using the TV out. It's been up since the release of .20a some time ago with no problems.

I just removed the .19 DEB's and built .20a form source rather then using the packaged DEB's.

If only it were that simple.

Of the 6 possible issues I listed in the R5D1 upgrade notes here: http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=11293 I only saw one of them (the transcoding) personally. But other people have had those issues and more that weren't common enough to make the list.

The 0.20fixes patch logs here: http://svn.mythtv.org/trac/log/branches/release-0-20-fixes have started to calm down some, but for a while there it was up to five per day. I only saw one or two of the dozens there, even though some of them were pretty serious.

Also don't forget that while MythTV is the key application, it's far from the only part of the system that has to work smoothly and reliably.

The next release with 0.20-fixes will be ready when it's ready. Trying to rush the process is both futile and more likely to do harm than good.

I am kinda curious on what the KM roadmaps looks like.. I am not sure if I should be upgrading to R5D1 and compiling 20 ontop of it.. or wait a few more weeks for a release. Not that am Searching for a pending release date just some info on how far along the next release is.. In the past I have allways done a upgrade 1 or 2 weeks before an offical release :)
