Ok I've searched and read through the different sites and maybe I just need to get this out here to clear my brain or maybe someone can point me in the right direction.

I'm on about my 6th re-install of KnoppMyth. As a lot of earlier ones ended up with user errors that once I figured out what was wrong I re-installed.

Gateway E3400
PVR-150(non-MCE)(IR receiver sender, "dog bone" Silver remote)
FX5200 DVI/S-Video
P3 933Mhz
256 RAM
10GB OS drive

First off a couple problems..

I had to go in and add Option "ConnectedMonitor" TV"
The Tuner was also not showing up properly so I went and added
options ivtv tuner=50

And a few other random things I've had to mess with...

Anyways

I can now watch TV so long as MythTV is set to Channel 4 and I change the Channel on the Cable Box.
(I have the weird blue line and can't can't use the PVR remote to change the CableBox channels yet)

BUT what I'm trying to sort out right now is why can't I get TV on any other MytTV channels ?

Yes when going through set-up I set it up to use Channel 4 for use with an external box.(Maybe it's supposed to work like this ?)

Thanks for any help(my brain is sort of fried right now)

You need to read the MythTV docs and think about about how this stuff works.

Connecting a cable box is like connecting a VCR. The single pre-tuned output signal needs to come from that device and into the consuming device (TV, Capture Card) as either S-Video (no tuning), Composite (no tuning), or RF Rebroadcast on a fixed channel (consuming devices tuner must be set to that channel). In the last scenario, if you tune your TV or Capture Card off of that "magic" channel, there's no signal for it to tune. Until you get an IRBlaster or other control device set up, so that MythTV can control that external tuner, changing the channel in MythTV isn't going to do what you expect.

Thanks. My brain was just off. In fact after writing this out and looking at it my first thoughts made no sense at all.

As at first I assumed that the pre-set channel 4(for external tuner) worked at a hidden level.(aka CableBox>MythTV-MythTV acts like channel 4 while changing channels works normal)

It was of course a completely weird way to think of it.
