I am attempting to use my StreamZap remote with R5D1. The remote was purchased from Amazon (not sure if it matters).

Receiver: USBIR2
Remote: No model number on remote

I exit mythfrontend and open xterm:

chown: cannot access `/home/mythtv/.mythtv/lircrc: No such file or directory
 System startup links for /etc/init.d/lirc already exist.
Stopping lirc daemon: lircmd lircd.
Starting lirc daemon: lircd.

The /var/log/mythtv/lirc-reconfig.log file is empty.

It appears that since no /etc and /home directories exist, a config file cannot be created. Can the StreamZap be configure to work on a frontend only boot CD?
