Has anyone been able to get a dwl-520+ working under R5C7 Kernel version 2.6.15? I have tried all the suggestions I could find searching on the board, but the fixes seem to be for older versions and not applicable. Then again, I could be totally wrong. :)

Could someone point me in the right direction? Thanks!

Im sure all its about is finding the right firmware, renaming it and placing it in the right directory. I just dont know what to name it, and where to put it. I have tried the obvious locations ( /lib/firmware/ and /usr/lib/hotplug/firmware). I just cant find out what that would be and where I should put them.

If memory serves I believe that card uses a TI chip that is not supported very well in Linux at all. The reason being is that TI refuses to release any documentation to aid in writting drivers for their chips.

there is an open source project working to produce drivers via reverse engineering that is showing some promise but I don't think the drivers are ready for main stream yet. You can find out more here:

Unfortunatly your best bet is probably to buy a card with a chip that has better Linux support and find your dwl-520+ a home in a Windows box.
