Hello all,

Fresh R5D1 install and I get no audio from mythstream (that's mystream NOT mythstreamTV).

I do get audio from:
TV, TV recordings, mythmusic, dvd (with xine)

My general (Utilities/Setup -> Setup -> General) setup points to:
ALSA:digital

My audio setup points to:
default

Where are the mythstream settings saved?
I bet that /dev/adsp would work there - if I could find the settings file.

Thanks!

-seano

Mythstream just calls mplayer. If you edit your /etc/mplayer/mplayer.conf to include the necessary ao and ac options such that running mplayer on the command line plays any of your media digitally, then it should also work in mythstream. You can try:
Code:
ac=hwac3,hwdts,
ao=oss:/dev/adsp

I know the ao option is using oss, but it may work better for you than trying to specify the right ALSA device.

Thanks!

I took a look in my /etc/asound.conf and found the ALSA line that I needed so I ended up with:

Code:
ac=hwac3,hwdts,
ao=alsa:device=mplayer

mythstream works - it behaves strangely - but it works. It looks like the caching is done in mplayer now; the mythstream cache thermometer bar stays out zero, but audio comes out fine.

R5E50 clean install can't get the MythstreamTV to give me audio, the video is perfect over any computer in the house just can't get the audio to work.
Any pointers would be appreciated. :lol:

connollyr12, start with making your own thread, this one already has a resolution.. You'd probably be ignored if you didn't. Give as much info as you can.

Thx..

Indeed - and please don't confuse MythStream with MythstreamTV. Another unfortunately confusing naming convention...
