I have a box that runs great with my pcHDTV 3000, but hangs after a few minutes.

I have use mbmon to watch the CPU temp, and it hangs even when < 50.

I have to boot it 3x or 5x to get up to a working system. It won't go to bios the first time, then it kernel panics a couple of times, then it gets in ok. I replaced the bios battery, no difference.

It will idle overnight (no myth, just xterm).

ASRock MB (p4s31)
Intel 3.2 GHz 800 FSB
2x 512 MB ram ddr3200
Nvidia 128 MB fx5900xt
pcHDTV 3000

Any ideas on how to track this problem down?

I could pull the video card, I doubt that is the problem.

I could reseat the memory or move them around. I tried each stick individually, still crashes but have not tried the first slot...

Maybe a CPU intensive vs mem intensive job?

I know this is not directly a Myth question, but it is hindering my ability to run my mythbox, and I worry it is a problem with the myth/video stuff, but since it is flaky I assume it is HW related, not software (this time).

Cheap MB from Newegg was easy to install and apparently fixed my hangs.
