Hi,

I know that if one has two tuner cards that pip works, switch tuners, etc. I only have one tuner card however I would think that pip still should work but have not been successful.

Theory behind my question is that if you are watching a channel that it is being sent to the harddrive where it is then picked back up for playout "ie, live tv" and if you have a second card, when you toggle to it then it becomes the "live tv".

My actual question is then if live is a play back of a recording, then why can't one play a recording and bring up the pip for the single tuner?? Am I missing a setting somewhere?

Thanks
Mike

I think I read here that mythtv doesn't allow for picture in picture if one or both are recordings. I guess it was assumed that if you have a recording, you can watch it later.

It's been discussed before actually. Might want to do a forum search here to get the latest info, but I understand it might be a future addition to mythtv.

Here's some info:

http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/mythtv/dev/230340

Looks like it's not in the current version of mythtv yet.

Also this ticket:
