Hello everyone

I am thinking of getting a VIA EPIA EN12000E for my frontend/backend.

Is this board supported in Knoppmyth ?

According to the information from VIA it should be able to do HDTV. Will this be possible with MythTV once I get either a Blueray drive or HDTV via cable ?

In the living room I have a 37" LCD-TV which support 1080i via DVI. The frontend/backend will be located next to this TV and I will use it with a Plextor TV402U. Some of the other PCs in the house will sometimes be used for frontends.

I have also been thinking about getting a AMD Turion or Intel Core based system but I am not sure which motherboard I should get. Any ideas ?

Best regards

Preben Kvist

I'm also looking for good information on EN12000E <-> KnoppMyth compatibility... Most notably if the chipset on these boards are supported at all. Can't seem to find any source of information that clearly states this.

I was looking at these earlier in the year, but at the time their on board graphics chips weren't supported.
You might want to check out the OpenChrome and Unichrome websites and mailing lists to see if anyone else has been able to get them to work yet.

Hi Inzide and Turpie

I came to the same conclusion. The VIA EN is not fully suported yet so I guess it at the moment is not a good choice.

I will wait a few months before buying a new setup. Hopefully the new VIA boards will be supported by then.

Actually I think I might go for the VIA EX series which has MPEG4 decoding.
