I'm looking into setting up a media receiver in my living room and I think MythTV might work for me. I've been reading quite a bit but still have a few questions.

Can MythTV access media on another PC running Windows? If not, can Windows access the MythTV drive to transfer media?

Is there a list of all the plugins available for MythTV?

I don't know anything about Linux, so I'm planning on using Knoppmyth. Is it easy to install plugins and updates?

Thanks

You can use samba to connect to a windows box and vice versa. There are instructions here and on the wiki. It is very easy to setup.

For plugins you can look on the mythtv site. Is there something specific you are looking for?

Knoppmyth is a great place to start to learn linux. It is easy to install and almost all of the hard work has already been done for you. If you stick with Tier 1 hardware, then you probably wont need to tweak anything. If you want a super smooth experience it is best to use a dedicated box with hardware from the Tier 1 thread. Plus the knoppmyth community is very helpful.

Could you point me to the plugins page? I can only find mention of a few of them on the downloads page.
I'm mainly looking for a built in podcatcher with bittorrent capability and a control for my Blockbuster queue similar to the Netflix control plugin I've heard about.

Thanks
