I dont know of any other mythtv packages. Could you tell me where it errored?

I just tried the head branch using my script and it worked perfectly.
Are you using the .20-fixes? maybe that branch is broken right now.

It actually defaults to the head (.21) branch.
It looks like its having some sort of a problem with your XvMC.
Have you messed with your XvMC libraries at all? Or have you messed with anything?

Well before you change the mythtv branch you have to delete the sources (mythtv, mythplugins, and myththemes)
Try sh mythsvn.sh once more maybe it will work.

No, try just "sh mythsvn.sh" first to see if .21 will compile just in case.
Then delete the "mythtv" "mythplugins" and "myththemes" from your svn directory and try "sh mythsvn.sh fixes"

sh mythsvn.sh failed.

Then I deleted the mythtv, mythplugins, and myththemes directories. Then I tried

Nope. I'm not doing anything fancy. It's just a basic R5D1 install, in which I ran cecil's suggested commands to upgrade to .20.

ed3120, I get the exact same error when running mythsvn.sh - WattoToydarian, this looks great by the way. I too am on a R5D1 + cecil's upgrade to 20 w/ fixes. I'm trying to get QAM support working for my HDHomeRun, but haven't been able to build from SVN yet. I can do OTA, but it's not great in my area. After the mythsvn script didn't work, I tried it manually and got the same results. I am also on an Athlon 64, a 3200. I noticed that everyone else appears to be on a Sempron. Do we need to update the compliler? If so, how would that be done? I'm in new territory for me....

hey gasheets, you might be right because I also have an A64 on my desktop running ubuntulinux and I can compile mythtv just fine using gcc-4.0 (knoppmyth has 3.4).

So do "nano /etc/apt/sources.list", change the first line so it has unstable instead of stable, save and exit, do apt-get update, the gcc-4.0 will be available to install.

Next do "apt-get install gcc-4.0" make sure it doesn't say it has to remove any packages then go ahead and press Y to install.

Then I think you have to change the link to gcc-4.0.
do "rm -f /usr/bin/gcc" then do "ln -s /usr/bin/gcc-4.0 /usr/bin/gcc" then the link will point to gcc-4.0.

After all this, you'll be ready to compile with gcc-4.0.
