Hey go to Zap2it and change your digital setups, they have now made the station identifiers have the minor channel numbers too. The sub channels were all un set in mine (from my last setup when they weren't available.)
I just changed them and won't see the results until I get home, but I expect this'll solve the problems....

Yep - the call sign now has the subchannel number.
DT
DT2
DT3

The channel number is still the ATSC / UHF channel number.

So my listings are the same as they were after going through my fix (which is good for those that have invested time in getting their listings working).

Hopefully myth can use the call sign to match listings to tuner channels for those that are starting from scratch.

It seems like others have gotten back up by only:
1) change the zap2it listing
2) mythfilldatabase --refresh-all

Since I could do this from work via SSH, I tried it. It almost worked... all the main channels show guide data _except_ for my local NBC affiliate... it still registers as "no data."

I set a recording going on my ABC affiliate and it did record.

So, not sure how to bring NBC back. I will read the Zap2It thread you sent.

EDIT: my dumb mistake (as usual), I hadn't checked the channel in zap2it. I did, reran mythfilldatabase --refresh-all, and it's back again. Whew.

The zap2it forum has people from coast to coast mad about this change for the worse. Ask zap2it to fix what they just broke.

Send the problem reports to:
labs@zap2it.com or feedback@zap2it.com

Or go to this page and enter your feedback into their online form:
http://mserv.zap2it.com/zeebee_feedback

Did you try deleting your OTA listings from Zap2it and recreating a new OTA listing?

Yes.....whatever I do I'm ending up with all digital channels without any data. Even if I choose only one analog in my lineup...this is a new install(had to change the hard drive)...what a mess

Does not help..at least for me.
I did a new clean install today but nothing changed.
Could it be the tuner card?? Doesn't matter what I pick in zap2it lineup the HD-5500 is locking the same channels like the OTA tuner in my TV + whatever I've checked in zap2it . But the channels from zap2it are useless( I got data but unwatchable).

It's a lot of rigamarole but one of the posters on the forums at labs.zap2it.com offered a different solution (http://bb.labs.zap2it.com/viewtopic.php?t=1052):

Apparently you can get the id numbers you need to download the appropriate channel by looking up your line up on zap2it.com and picking the channel you want. The xmlid # for that channel will be in the url after the "stnNum=".

You can then insert it manually in mythtv-setup. The hassle part is that you have to do it for each subchannel.

I won't have a chance to check it out until this weekend, but thought I would pass it on anyhow.

OK- this Works ! I had been fiddling repeatedly with trying to put the sub-channels back in my lineup, and zap2it's setup kept showing them deleted next time....

Kill your old lineup at zap2it ! Delete it. Then make a new one with the DT channels selected (& the same zipcode you have entered in Myth to identify it...). You can't fix the old one, but the new one will work, and will DL the data for the hyphenated channels, you don't have to use the 'real' channel numbers to get it to DL data.

Just checked on Zap2it’s forums, it seems they have put it back to the way it was.

From their forum:

Today they put it back the way it was, listing it by the PSIP mapping the station uses, instead of the physical channel number. But you will have to do the same thing to get them back. Modify the listings, click update, and modify them again.

I found the same thing. They've put the channels back. I had to delete all my channels and reinstall the normal way. A pain to have to fix again, but it is good to see them get it straight.

One other note, in the process I ended up with a few "unknown" channels again. Turns out that zap2it modified a few of the channels one more time. Nothing serious, I just had to go to their site and modify my line up by adding those channels back one more time.

Lesson: If your program guide gets messed up, always start by checking your line-up at zap2it labs first. Even before you do something as simple as a mythfilldatabase.

My Mythtv box is working again also - after a deletion and readdition of channel linup at labs.zap2it.com.

The sub-channel naming approach to the digital tv channels makes the most sense, since the over-the-air broadcasters have mapped their channels as 2-1, 2-2, etc rather than the UHF channel number. This way, everyone is using the same channel names.

I like tkoster's rule of thumb:
