I have just setup a seperate backend and frontend system. Live TV and recordings seem to work well but I am having trouble getting mythvideo, mythmusic to work.
I tried to follow the wiki for a frontend setup and got lost with the NFS. I created the mnt/myth directory and mounted it using the backend ip as the share? but it appears to have copied the files there. Is this correct or are they symbolic links to the files on the backend? I take it now have to set mythvideo and music to look for the/mnt/myth files now?
I thought the idea was for the backend to store all recordings, video, music etc and the frontend/s slaved off this.

It didn't copy the files. You mounted the nfs share to a particular directory. when you use that directory your OS automatically connects to the nfs share on the other computer and shows you the files as if they were located under that directory. If you do:
Code:
umount /mnt/myth

You will see that the directory is empty. This way you can access the files as if they were copied over to the frontend.

You are correct you need to edit the directories that the frontend uses for mythvideo, etc.
