I recently installed R5D1, I did everything listed in the thread http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=11311 and it still didn't work. I then tried to install R5C7 and I am getting the same error.
On the boot up the screen is progressively indented and stops after the ====END INIT IVTV====
ivtv0-osd:Frambuffer module loaded.........
ivtv0-osd: screen coords: ........
ivtv0-osd: original global alpha = 208
ivtv0-osd: cuyrrent OSD state = 39
ivtv0-osd: new global alpha =
208 ivtv0-osd: framebuff

That is where it is frozen. What can I do to fix this ??

Thanks,

James

Hi,
When you installed C7, did you select tv out?

Hi,
Did you hook a tv monitor to the yellow connector and watch tv?

Yeah,

TVout (and everything else) was working perfectly until I rebooted, then it freezes up on me.

Hi

What you discribe is about normal for C7 on a boot up. Typically, you would see the text from the system being spilled to the screen, a flash or two of green on the 350 tv out as the card is reset. Just before it would normally switch to the gui is when the text scrolls sideways and appears to freeze. A few moments later you should see the tv out come to life.

If you have a second computer, try to ssh (use putty on windows) into the box and run ps ax to see what is running, run top to see what is going on with the system. check logs (as root) /var/logs/ has most of them. Use less /var/log/message.log (example)

You have given very little information about the hardware,
Quote:
208 ivtv0-osd: framebuff
was there more information after that? Have you ran a memory test from the cd?

I'm sorry I'm a complete noob and have no idea how to ssh in to my KM box :( I'll attempt to figure it out when I get home from work. For now

My hardware:
AMD Duron 800
Biostar M7VKQ Motherboard (Chipset:VIA VT8361(KLE133) / VT82C686B)
512 MB RAM (PC 133)
Maxtor 40 GB ATA Hard drive
haupauge pvr 350 with silver remote
TNT2 M64 32 Graphics card
AC'97 2.2 Audio CODEC Onboard
Signal from an external tuner box (Starchoiche Sattelite)

I ran a memory test and it ran through with out any errors.
It freezes up but nothing comes up on the TV. The last two lines on my monitor are
ivtv0-osd: new global alpha = 208
ivtv0-osd: framebuff
Nothing more.....

This is exactly what happened in R5D1. Please let me know what other information is required to diagnose my problem !

Thanks
James
