Thanks for reading. I am looking for any advice that you may be able to give regarding a couple of my minor issues. First I should say that I have a fresh install of R5D1. I have performed a few minor updates which include changing my default audio output to use the optical output of my sound card, attempting to update my nvidia drivers to get a "more clear" picture and adding the DVD Player support.

I am having a couple of small issues and I have searched for the last several hours with no success of things to try.

First, when I watch live tv I have video and sound. I have been able to use the optical out on my AV-710 for live tv. However, when I attempt to watch a DVD, I get picture but no sound. I tried to add:
to the line for the xine part of the DVD Player Setup. This has not resulted in anything that I can tell thus far. I did try to use mplayer to play a DVD, but I got encryption errors. Since I plan on keeping knoppmyth as standard as possible, I have not tried to troubleshoot mplayer, just tried to search for xine suggestions. Unfortunately, I haven't had much luck.

My second issue, is that I have used this setup on a Dell 17" Monitor, followed by a 42" Panasonic Plasma. For both cases, when the Myth Open Screen comes up the display is moved over to the left leaving a black bar on the right hand side. I really noticed it on the plasma. When the Bootup/splash screen appears, it is full screen, but when I see the myth desktop or watch tv, I have the black bar only on the right side. I had a post a back in april about this plasma where wififun posted a suggested xorg.conf. ( http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=8954&highlight= ) I didn't know if I should attempt to locate this file and make his modifications or if there is something else I need to look for.

I appreciate this forum very much as it has been a wealth of knowledge for me to get this far. Once I get everything going I will post to Tier 2 (at least).
