Hey Guys ^^

Planning to upgrade my Main Gaming Rig in january, and using my old box and some spare bits to make a myth PVR+Media Box, and for the most part i'm fine, except for the PSU, i'm really struggling to find a decent PSU for the box

my planned setup is:

AMD 64 3000+ (754)
1G (2*512) DDR Ram
One IDE 20-40G HDD (For OS+Apps Install)
a TV Tuner Card (Hauppage Somthing-or-other)
1(To be upgraded as space needed)-4 USB SATA Drives
An old (and i mean old, its just for output to TV afterall) ATI AGP Graphics card
And a DVD Rom Drive

All the components are silenced, the CPU stock fan is in-audiable at 2 meters (even in the dead of night), The DVD and IDE drives have vibration absorbing padding, and the SATA external drive cant be heard even at 10cm, but my biggest problem is the powersupply, my current one makes more noise than the rest of the pc put together (its like a jet taking off, i dont want that while i sleep!)

for a system like this i need barely 200W of power if that, but i cannot for the life of me find any <250/300/350 Watt Low noise PSU's in the UK

so far all i can find are 450 and up PSU's for 50 quid or more, i'd rather not spend that much as i know full well i wont be upgrading anything in this box except the external HDD amount

Does anyone have any advice/reccomendations?

Thanks :)

The Antec ones are widely available and at least OK if not completely silent. That's what I've got in my KM box and it's a non-issue as far as noise goes. More than 3-4 feet from the box and it's totally lost in the ambient.

If you're an experienced system builder I might be bringing coals to Newcastle here, but don't forget to pay attention to the power connector for the mother board, almost all the AMD 64 boards need a 24 pin connector, and a supplemantal 4 pin CPU connector on top of that, and some even want an IDE power connector on top of that. A lot of the lower spec (and often older) PSUs only have a 20 pin connector.
