Looks like you're up s___ creek with no paddle.

Verify your CD image. With md5sum on the ISO file and boot the CD with the "tv tescd" options.

Nope, just checking to make sure you installed from a good CD.

Hit the CompileIvtv directions on the wiki and bring yourself up to the latest if you haven't already. Don't skip any steps, refresh the firmware and the whole 9 yards.

I noticed a few things during my boot with the tv tescd options and took pictures of them with my digital cam. These might lend some insight.

The reason the first one is significant is because it detects SiS video, but I'm not using the onboard SiS video, i'm using an nvidia card. I had the SiS card disabled up until earlier today when trying to figure some stuff out, so maybe it has nothing to do with it, since the problems were occuring before i enabled SiS.

These pictures are linked because they're huge. Besides Mspaint i've got nothing on this computer.

Do you mean don't skip any steps even though this tells me to do 1, 2, 3 and 10? or... don't skip any steps that it tells me to do.

Do the stuff you'd normally skip in R5D1, just on the off chance that something got roached but check summed OK.

Looks like i'm still up s___ creek. I followed everything on the CompileIvtv page and it didn't work.

On step 6 of CompileIvtv i'm getting the wrong md5sum value for /usr/lib/hotplug/firmware/v4l-pvrusb2-24xxx-01.fw so i went back to the step where you download the file and worked back up to where I checksum the files and i'm still getting the same checksum values. Luckly i'm not using a usbpvr so this file is neglectable.

How did you configure your tuner in mythtv-setup? I selected "Analog V4L capture card" for my PVR-150/350 once before and had the exact same problem - blank screen for ~10 seconds, back to menu. For the PVR-x50 and 500 be sure to choose "MPEG-2 encoder card (PVR-x50, PVR-500)"

Well he's supposedly been through the updated http://www.knoppmythwiki.org/index.php?page=BlackScreenWatchingTV page which now covers this...

Supposedly. With all the posts going back and forth I didn't catch if DarkDevil had actually gone through the suggestions on that page. I certainly hope he has, as the solution is almost assuredly in there.

I learned a long time ago to be skeptical of anything a user tells me. ;-)

I've Reinstalled KnoppMyth. Installation was standard except for where I enter my Zipcode. I entered my Canadian Postal code and it didn't detect my area like it did last time. I'm having the same issue of being able to see television only from the MythPhone menu. Going to "Watch TV" brings up a blank screen that lasts exactly 25 seconds.

System Specs:
WinFast K7S 741GXMG Motherboard w/ Lan, Sound, Video
MSI Nvidia Geforce4 Ti4200-8x (Opted to not use onboard Video and use this instead)
200GB WD Caviar Harddrive
512MB Samsung OEM Ram
Hauppauge PVR-150 (Soon to add a second I received for Christmas)
Internet Connection: Rogers Hi-Speed Internet through DL-604 Router
Television Connection: Full Tier Standard Cable, Through 2 unavoidable splitters, signal tested and picture is fine.

1. Setup X11 Forwarding on Mythbox by following the RemoteAccessfromWindows page.

2. Checked Wires and Everything was good.

3. Followed The CheckLogFiles page and went through the log files.

This is probibly the most interesting of the log files in that it has a couple errors mentioned in it.

It says towards the end that I was recording Pope's Mass at Torbay. I assume this is because I was trying to watch it, and it was recording so that i can pause livetv and whatnot, however I was getting a blank screen for 25 seconds. This show was on my default channel at the time of attempting to watch tv though.

I'll go through the rest of my log files. I was going to upload them to some webspace i've got but unfortunately my friends server went down and he is too busy with christmas to do anything about it right now.
