I can't find any info about Dish Network's Channel Frequency? I did a search and found nothing.

Thanks for not yelling at me.

I use Svideo from my Dish to feed my PVR 150's

This is only SDTV but it works great.

Not sure of your location or any other info..

Andy

Actually, I need to know what to set my preferences at:
us-bcast
us-cable
us-cable-irc
us-cable-hrc

I have Dish Network and live in Dayton, OH. I've registered at Zap2it and that didn't load either?!

I looks like (this is my first install) I need to nail this...if not...re-install. I can't figure out where to change it once it's installed.

Thanks for the help!

Tenroc,
You will need to exit back out of the Frontend, the wife calls that the Penguin on the Coach screen.

Then Press Alt-X and then su in the terminal followed by your Root password.

Code:
/etc/init.d/mythtv-backend stop

mythtv-setup

How are you connecting to the Satellite Box?
Selection 2 Capture Card select your tuner type. if it is PVR-x50 like most then that is in the list. at the bottom entry there, select the type of input you are using.

I use the S-video but if you are using Tuner then select that.

Then if you have already setup the Zap2It listing, you can skip to
Selection 4 - Input Connections. In there you bind your Zap2it listing to the Tuner Card and it's input you are using. Enter the appropriate info a Starting channel (This will become the Channel on your Dish Receiver it starts at, then there are two buttons, push the right one the left one messes up your Zap2it listings. That will load the "Channels" that your dish can receive.

Once it completes, then set the starting channel.
Next if you are running more than one tuner you can raise or lower the tuner preference if you want.

Once that is done finish you are back at the initial 5 selection mythtv-setup screen. Press Esc. I get a couple of messages, asking me things like Channel 2 is not valid, need help fixing it. I say no, this might be becasue i am using R5C7 not sure, but it only surfaced when my Dish starting providing Channel 2 etc.

Now you are back at the Penguin screen and should have the terminal.
Enter
Code:
mythfilldatabase

Wait for it to complete.
Then enter
Code:
/etc/init.d/mythtv-backend restart

This should get you going when you go back into the Frontend.
The default us-bcast I never change, but I also use s-video for input to the card.

This is really easy and if you have gotten this far you are doing great! Besides using this really great package that the bunch has created is a step above some of the other "stuff" out there.

There is a really great howto over at knoppmythwiki.org I have found that plus intuitive searching here very helpful.

Hope this helps!
