MythTV installed fine [.19] on my Chaintech mb w/PVRs 350 & 500 and everything seems to work fine, even the remote [didn't know that had changed ]. The PVR-500's even give a good picture now !!
The only problem I'm having is mythfilldatabase is not working; I get the following:
I'm working on it, and have read some info on zap2it's forum, but still am having no luck.
Any help or comments appreciated, hopefully I'm not overlooking something really simple.

Looks like you're rerunning it after the DB has already been filled... Try using the option for a full refresh. You can find this by running mythfilldatabase with the --help option.

Thank tjc, but the problem was a rather simple one.
My subscription had expired !!!
I was logging in and looking at the expiration date and not really thinking (obvious) and not remembering it was 2007 !
I renewed the subscription and the database is filling right now.

Well, I thought it was working, it showed data downloading, but there's still no data in the program guide. 'Guess I'll work on it some more; maybe mysql needs to just be reinitialized (wiped out) and start from square one ?

I wouldn't go there yet. Check the record counts in the DB first, and use the option I was talking about above. There's also a thread around here somewhere about a network interface setting that can help.

Oh, and make sure you've setup your tuner card(s) and the input connection(s) under mythtv-setup. No input connections, no program guide, because it only shows you stuff that's available through one of your inputs.

Thanks for the time tjc, but I took the chicken way out. I installed the latest version and all's well except that the remote's not working.
Possibly the problem with mysql was not setting the actual IP of the machine.
All inputs, etc... were good to go.
This lirc has me going now though. There's no lirc directory in /dev, which one script I ran across references. Also, I guess somehow the 350 is seen as
a 150 according to the logs. It tries, but there's no config info.
I may try that install again, as it went kinda' funny; when MythTV is installed & you reboot, you come to the small sign-on screen and go through several configuration steps; my install only went as far as asking if I wanted to set up the 350's TV-out, then jumped right to the actual card configuration screens.
Again, thanks, I'm just getting back into it with Knoppix; I went to Debian linux from KnoppMyth and then a couple more distros. I'm getting there .
